Making history as the first African-American president of the United States of America, Barack Hussein Obama II was first inaugurated on January 20, 2009. Also making history as the first president being born outside the contiguous United States.

He was elected the 44th President of the United States on November 4, 2008. After being re-elected in 2012, President Obama final term will come to an end, effective January 20, 2017 at 9:00am.

President Obama and his wife, Michelle, are the proud parents of two daughters, Malia and Sasha. Michelle Obama is the ONLY First Lady in American history to hold two Ivy League degrees.
